- The feeling of accomplishment is what keeps you going. Your long term motivation depends on it.
So take care of it, it’s definitely worth it. - Realizing you reached a stepping stone is crucial.
I remember taking a Pimsleur audio course for Spanish, and after 30 lessons, hearing:
You reached level 2. Congratulations.
And that was it!…
I felt very frustrated. Not getting that feeling of accomplishment I didn’t know I was looking for. - Knowing what stepping stones are.
For your French, that means some things are more important than others:
It includes things like:
– mastering all three dimensions of the passé composé – a HUGE stepping stone (j’ai mangé, je suis allé, je me suis réveillé) in your French learning. You should celebrate reaching that ‘level’ 😉
– being able to speak for 2 minutes straight is another HUGE stepping stone
– having a conversation for 5 minutes (back and forth) – i another HUGE one (that means your listening as well as your speaking is on point!)
