Stepping stones: you did it!

  1. The feeling of accomplishment is what keeps you going. Your long term motivation depends on it.
So take care of it, it’s definitely worth it.
  2. Realizing you reached a stepping stone is crucial.
I remember taking a Pimsleur audio course for Spanish, and after 30 lessons, hearing:
    You reached level 2. Congratulations.
    And that was it!…
I felt very frustrated. Not getting that feeling of accomplishment I didn’t know I was looking for.
  3. Knowing what stepping stones are.
For your French, that means some things are more important than others:
    It includes things like:
    – mastering all three dimensions of the passé composé – a HUGE stepping stone (j’ai mangé, je suis allé, je me suis réveillé) in your French learning. You should celebrate reaching that ‘level’ 😉
    – being able to speak for 2 minutes straight is another HUGE stepping stone
    – having a conversation for 5 minutes (back and forth) – i another HUGE one (that means your listening as well as your speaking is on point!)
